Bookkeeper – Accounts Receivable Specialist (Part-Time)

About the role

We're looking for an experienced Bookkeeper with a real strength in accounts receivable to join our friendly team on a part-time basis. This is a hands-on role where you'll own the invoicing cycle end to end — raising invoices accurately and on time, keeping on top of what's outstanding, and following up with the persistence and professionalism that keeps our cash flow healthy.

The role also supports month-end processes and the maintenance of accurate, well-organised financial records.

Key responsibilities

• Raise and issue invoices accurately and in accordance with agreed billing schedules.

• Monitor the debtors ledger daily and maintain an up-to-date view of all outstanding accounts.

• Follow up overdue accounts by phone and email in a timely, courteous and professional manner, escalating problem debtors where required.

• Allocate and receipt incoming payments and reconcile accounts receivable to the general ledger.

• Investigate and resolve billing queries, disputes and discrepancies with customers promptly.

• Prepare and distribute regular AR ageing reports, and flag emerging collection risks early.

• Maintain accurate customer records, billing details and payment terms.

• Assist with bank and account reconciliations as part of month-end processes.

• Maintain orderly, audit-ready financial records and supporting documentation.

• Assist with accounts payable, payroll support or other bookkeeping duties as reasonably required.

About you

• Demonstrated bookkeeping experience with a strong accounts receivable focus, including raising invoices and chasing overdue accounts.

• A confident, courteous and persistent approach to collections — firm but always professional.

• High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reconciliations.

• Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort on the phone.

• Ability to work independently, prioritise a varied workload and meet deadlines.

• Discretion in handling confidential financial and customer information.

• Certificate IV in Bookkeeping/Accounting or equivalent qualification (desirable).

• Experience in a healthcare or medical practice environment (desirable).

• Entitlement to work in Australia.
