The Adelaide Cemeteries Authority is seeking an experienced and passionate Chef de Partie to join our Hospitality and Catering team on a casual basis at our Clearview location.
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled culinary professional who takes pride in delivering high-quality food and exceptional service. Working within a professional and fast-paced environment, you will be responsible for managing a designated kitchen section, maintaining high culinary standards, and contributing to the delivery of catering services for functions, events and hospitality operations across the Authority.
As a key member of our kitchen team, you will play an important role in ensuring consistency, quality, food safety and operational excellence while supporting a positive and collaborative workplace culture.
Oversee the day-to-day operations of your assigned kitchen section, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
Prepare, cook and present food to a consistently high standard, with a strong focus on quality, presentation and customer satisfaction.
Monitor stock levels, manage food supplies and assist with inventory control to minimise waste and maintain cost efficiency.
Train, mentor and support junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive team environment.
Maintain compliance with food safety, health and hygiene standards, policies and procedures.
Ensure all menu items are prepared in accordance with recipes, specifications and portion controls.
Work closely with the Head Chef and wider team to deliver exceptional catering and hospitality services.
Monitor the condition of kitchen equipment and promptly report maintenance or operational issues.
Contribute to menu development, food costing and continuous improvement initiatives.
Support the successful delivery of events, functions and special catering requirements as required.
To be successful in this role, you will bring a strong culinary background, a commitment to quality, and the ability to thrive in a busy team-oriented environment.
You will have:
Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar kitchen role within a hospitality, catering or event environment.
Strong technical cooking skills and a sound understanding of food preparation techniques and contemporary kitchen practices.
Demonstrated experience leading, coaching and supporting less experienced team members to achieve high performance standards.
Knowledge of food safety legislation, HACCP principles and workplace health and safety requirements.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing tasks.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative and professional approach.
A high level of attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining quality and consistency.
Flexibility, reliability and the ability to adapt to varying business requirements and event schedules.
Current food safety qualifications and relevant hospitality certifications.
Experience in function, event or institutional catering will be highly regarded.
