Ward 9 West- OrthoMedical & ACE (Acute Care of the Elderly)

About the role

As a Registered Nurse on 9 West, you will provide high-quality, patient-centred care to older people across Acute Care Elderly (ACE) and OrthoMedical. You will use your clinical expertise to support patients with acute medical conditions and fractured neck of femur through their recovery, rehabilitation and safe discharge.

Working as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to an intensive therapy model focused on achieving meaningful patient outcomes and supporting discharge within approximately seven days. You will work closely with patients, families, medical and allied health teams to deliver safe, effective and coordinated care.

This is a varied clinical environment where you will have the opportunity to strengthen your acute nursing skills while contributing to a supportive team focused on improving the experience and outcomes of older people.

Key Accountabilities

• Provide safe, high-quality, person-centred nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation, in collaboration with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team.
• Deliver evidence-based nursing interventions and procedures in accordance with RMH policies, clinical standards and scope of practice.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to support effective care coordination and achieve positive patient outcomes.
• Advocate for patients and contribute to health education, support and health promotion activities.

About You

• Recent experience in acute or subacute care.
• AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• A commitment to patient-centred care, safety, and continuous improvement.
• You enjoy working within a collaborative, interdisciplinary team.
• Experience in neurosurgery nursing is valued but not essential.
