The Opportunity

Located in the heart of Kununurra, the gateway to the spectacular East Kimberley, the Best Western Cambridge Hotel is undergoing an exciting transformation.

The hotel features 97 guest rooms, restaurant and bar facilities, and a pool

By mid-next year, the final stage of the project will introduce:

• A new wellness and spa offering

• Pool bar facilities

• Lobby bar activation

• Art gallery experience showcasing local and regional artwork

• Modern lobby and self-service kiosk check-in experience

• Expanded conference and meeting facilities

• Upgraded guest amenities and public spaces

• New On-Site laundry and operational infrastructure

This role offers a rare chance to bring your ambitious vision to life and leave a lasting legacy in the region’s hospitality landscape.

The Role

Reporting to and working closely with the BWH Hotels Head Office team, you will be responsible for the overall operation of the hotel and leadership of the on-site team.

We seek a leader who inspires by example, setting high standards through proactive leadership and integrity.

You'll be involved in every part of the operation, including:

• Daily hotel operations

• Front office and guest services

• Housekeeping management

• Food and beverage operations

• Kitchen Operations

• Laundry Operations

• Recruitment and onboarding

• Staff training and development

• Rostering and labour management

• Ordering and procurement

• Supplier management

• Budget and cost control

• Conference and event operations

• Maintenance coordination

• Grounds and Lawn Maintenance

• Community engagement and local partnerships

Above all, you will be entrusted with fostering exceptional guest experiences and cultivating a positive, empowering workplace culture.

The Type of Leader We're Looking For

We're looking for someone comfortable rolling up their sleeves and getting involved in operations every day, talking to our guests and team alike.

• Someone who is happy to:

• Help during a busy breakfast service

• Assist with guest arrivals when reception gets busy

• Change a keg when the bar needs support

• Lend a hand around the pool bar during peak periods

• Support housekeeping during high occupancy

• Walk rooms and public areas daily

• Work alongside maintenance when required

• Jump in wherever the operation needs them

About You

You may currently be a Hotel Manager, Motel Manager, Resort Manager, Hospitality Management Couple, Inn or Lodge Management Team, or Assistant Hotel Manager ready for your next step. 

Most importantly, you will bring:

• Strong hospitality leadership experience

• Commercial awareness

• Excellent people management skills

• A positive and solutions-focused attitude

• Strong organisational and time management skills

• The ability to thrive in a regional community and work independently

• IT and tech savvy
