Security Technician

About the role

ELK Security Pty Ltd is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Security Technician to join our team based in Castle Hill, NSW. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and monitoring of security systems that protect our clients' properties and assets. As a Security Technician, you will be at the forefront of our service delivery, ensuring that all security installations meet industry standards and client expectations. This role is essential to maintaining ELK Security's reputation for excellence in the security services industry.

Key responsibilities

• Install, test, and commission security systems including CCTV cameras, alarms, access control systems, and related equipment at client premises

• Perform routine maintenance and technical servicing on installed security systems to ensure optimal performance

• Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in security systems and implement timely repairs

• Respond to client service calls and provide technical support for security system issues

• Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine appropriate security solutions for clients

• Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance work, and system configurations

• Adhere to health and safety regulations and company safety protocols at all times

• Communicate effectively with clients to explain system operation and maintenance requirements

• Keep abreast of new security technologies and industry best practices to enhance service delivery

What we're looking for

• Certificate III or above in Security Systems, Electronics, or a related trade qualification

• Proven experience working as a Security Technician or in a similar technical role within the security industry

• Sound knowledge of CCTV systems, alarm systems, access control systems, and network technologies

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently

• Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, to liaise with clients and team members

• Full Australian driving licence and reliable transport for attending client sites

• Current security clearance or willingness to obtain one

• Physical fitness to perform manual tasks, including climbing ladders and lifting equipment

• Attention to detail and ability to work accurately with technical documentation and system specifications

• Preferred: Experience with specific security platforms and software commonly used in the industry
