Fertspread is an independent fertiliser contractor based on the Hume Highway near Gunning, NSW, servicing a large and diverse region across the NSW Southern Tablelands — from Cooma in the south to Sydney in the north, and as far west as Young and Cootamundra. The business also operates a second base in the Hunter Valley.

Specialising in the supply, transport and spreading of bulk fertilisers and soil ameliorants, Fertspread is one of the largest suppliers of its kind in NSW. Services extend beyond agriculture to include sporting fields, road stabilisation, and land rehabilitation. We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Yardman to join our team based in Gunning, NSW. This is a hands-on, ground-level role that keeps our operations running smoothly day to day. You'll be a key part of a close-knit team, working across yard duties, workshop support, and vehicle care. If you take pride in your work, can hold a HR licence, and are keen to grow your skills toward a HC licence, we want to hear from you.

• Loading hoppers and trucks in a safe and efficient manner

• Washing and maintaining the cleanliness of trucks and heavy vehicles

• General workshop cleaning and housekeeping

• Assisting workshop staff with mechanical tasks as required

• Fuelling and basic pre-start checks on vehicles and equipment

• Moving and spotting vehicles around the yard

• Organising and maintaining yard stock, materials, and supplies

• Loading and unloading deliveries using the loader

• Monitoring and reporting any damage, defects, or safety concerns

• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised yard environment at all times

• Assisting with general site tasks as directed by management

• Current HR (Heavy Rigid) licence — essential

• Willingness to obtain a HC (Heavy Combination) licence in the future

• Demonstrated loader operation experience — essential

• Minimum of 3+ years loader operation experience required

• Mechanical knowledge or workshop exposure — highly desirable

• Strong work ethic with a reliable and punctual approach

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

• Commitment to workplace health and safety practices

• Australian citizenship or permanent residency required
