Based at Maybrook Manor in Cromer, you will help keep the village safe, comfortable and well maintained. Your primary focus will be general maintenance across the village, with some grounds and garden maintenance also forming part of your week.
You will have the independence to manage day-to-day maintenance requests, identify potential issues early and complete a broad variety of practical tasks. You will also use your judgement to recognise when work requires a licensed or trade-qualified professional and help coordinate the appropriate contractor.

What You Will Be Working OnYour days will involve responding to maintenance requests and completing preventative and general maintenance throughout the village.
You WillComplete general maintenance and minor repairs across village buildings, facilities and common areasConduct routine inspections of buildings, equipment and village facilitiesMonitor and undertake basic maintenance associated with hot-water and air-conditioning systems within the limits of your skills and qualificationsIdentify when specialist or licensed trade support is required and engage or coordinate the appropriate contractorRespond promptly to urgent or safety-related maintenance mattersSchedule, record and track maintenance requests and preventative maintenance activitiesMonitor maintenance supplies, equipment and toolsAssist with waste management and the upkeep of grounds, gardens and outdoor areasBuild positive, respectful relationships with residents and keep them informed about maintenance workPotentially drive the resident bus to Warriewood each Tuesday and Warringah Mall each Thursday, subject to holding the appropriate licence
What Type Of Person Will Be SuccessfulYou are practical, approachable and comfortable completing a broad range of general maintenance duties. You can assess an issue, undertake work safely within your capabilities and recognise when a licensed tradesperson is required.
You Will BringWorking knowledge and hands-on experience across general building or property maintenanceBasic knowledge of hot-water and air-conditioning systems, including routine checks and identifying faultsSound judgement about what you can safely complete and what must be referred to a qualified professionalThe ability to organise your workload, respond to changing priorities and work independentlyA strong commitment to workplace health and safetyA friendly and respectful approach when working with residentsThe physical capacity to perform hands-on duties and lift or move items weighing up to 15 kilogramsA current driver licenceBasic computer skills to record and track maintenance activities
A Light Rigid (LR) driver licence is preferred but not essential, as this may allow you to drive the resident bus on its regular Tuesday and Thursday outings.
