Trainer – Omexom Institute (Energy Industry Training)

We are seeking a Trainer who holds a Certificate III in ESI to join the Omexom Institute. This is an opportunity to step into a role where your Lineworker experience directly shapes future apprentices, ESI workers, and technical specialists across Victoria.

Location & Work Arrangement:

• Based in Port Melbourne

• Regular on site work across our other locations

• Full time requirement to be on site

Your Role & Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver and assess accredited training aligned with VESI and national standards

• Train apprentices, new entrants, and industry workers across a range of ESI competencies

• Apply adult learning principles to practical, hands-on training environments

• Develop and maintain TAS documents, assessment tools, and learner resources

• Ensure training compliance with ASQA, VRQA, and RTO standards

• Support internal audits, scope of registration applications, and quality reviews

• Manage LMS/SMS training data, reporting and record compliance

• Integrate innovative learning methods including simulation and digital tools

• Engage with regulators, clients and industry bodies to ensure industry relevance

What you will need:

• Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (desirable)

• Relevant electrical trade qualification in Certificate III in ESI - Distribution Overhead, Underground or Metering (essential)

• Demonstrated Lineworker technical expertise and a strong safety mindset (essential)

• VESI recognised Trainer/Assessor accreditation (or willingness to obtain)

• Experience delivering accredited training and assessment within an RTO or enterprise training environment

• Practical industry experience within electricity distribution, utilities, or a related sector

• Experience working with VESI standards and compliance frameworks

• Familiarity with ASQA/VRQA requirements and training record management
