About The Role
The Assistant Accountant plays a key role in supporting revenue processes, maintaining accurate financial records, driving process improvements, and ensuring the integrity of balance sheet reconciliations. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you will help deliver timely financial outcomes while contributing to the continuous improvement of our finance function.
In The Role You Will
Raise customer invoices in line with contractual schedules and ad hoc business requirements.Monitor accounts receivable balances and proactively follow up outstanding debt in partnership with internal stakeholders.Manage customer account set-up, payment allocations and account maintenance.Respond to customer enquiries and resolve billing discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.Reconcile bank accounts, customer ledgers and balance sheet accounts as part of month-end reporting processes.Take ownership of aged debtor reporting and provide meaningful commentary on outstanding balances and collection activity.Support revenue recognition activities to ensure accurate and timely reporting.Lead and contribute to process improvement and efficiency initiatives across the Accounts Receivable function.Take full ownership of assigned balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of reconciling items.Assist with external audits, financial reporting requirements and ad hoc finance projects.Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external customers to support business outcomes.
Ideally you will have:
Have 2-3+ years’ experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance roleStrong attention to detail and time management skillsExperience with reconciliations and managing aged receivablesConfident communicator with strong stakeholder and customer relationship skillsProficient in Microsoft Office, particularly ExcelAbility to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
