Project Manager (Ecological Restoration & Feral Animal Management)

We're seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of large-scale ecological restoration, weed management and feral animal management programs for government, infrastructure, renewable energy, resources and conservation clients.

From protecting threatened species and restoring critical habitat to managing some of Australia's most significant offset and conservation areas, your work will deliver real environmental outcomes on the ground.

This is a hands-on leadership role combining project delivery, client management and field operations.

You'll lead multidisciplinary teams delivering large-scale environmental programs across Queensland and beyond, ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly, on time and within budget.

Projects may include:

• Wild dog, fox, feral pig, feral cat and cane toad management programs

• Pest monitoring using cameras, trapping and field survey methodologies

• Integrated pest management operations

• Large-scale weed control and ecological restoration projects

• Environmental offset management and stewardship programs

• Threatened species recovery and habitat improvement initiatives

• Manage environmental projects through planning, execution and completion

• Coordinate field teams, subcontractors, equipment and resources

• Monitor project budgets, forecasts and commercial performance

• Deliver projects safely, efficiently and in accordance with contractual requirements

• Build strong relationships with clients, landholders and stakeholders

• Act as the primary point of contact for project delivery

• Prepare project reports, updates and technical documentation

• Lead feral animal management and ecological restoration programs across diverse landscapes

• Ensure compliance with environmental, biosecurity and animal welfare legislation

• Monitor project outcomes and implement adaptive management approaches

• Promote a strong safety, quality and environmental culture

You are a practical and motivated leader who enjoys balancing operations, people management and environmental outcomes.

You may come from a background in:

• Vertebrate pest management

• Biosecurity

• Natural resource management

• Ecological restoration

• Environmental consulting

• Conservation or land management

Most importantly, you have proven experience leading field teams, managing complex projects and delivering successful outcomes in dynamic environments.

• Experience managing feral animal management, biosecurity or environmental field programs

• Demonstrated project management experience including budgeting, scheduling and resource management

• Knowledge of integrated pest management principles and their practical application

• Experience supervising field teams, contractors and remote operations

• Strong stakeholder and client relationship management skills

• Excellent planning, problem-solving and organisational skills

• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements

• Current Australian Driver Licence

• Qualifications in Environmental Science, Ecology, Natural Resource Management, Biosecurity or a related discipline

• Experience delivering ecological restoration, offset management or conservation programs

• Experience with pest monitoring methodologies including camera trapping and survey design

• GIS and spatial data experience

• ACDC licence or other pest management-related accreditations
