Highwall Project Manager

About the role

Gainwell is building its presence in Australia as a new tier-one OEM in Highwall Mining technology, and this Mackay-based role sits right at the centre of that growth. You'll be the face of the business for one of our highest-value customer accounts. As the single point of contact for the operation and maintenance of a unique highwall miner. It is a hands-on, customer-oriented role for someone who enjoys the variety of working both in the field and bringing field-based learnings back to the business, and is suited to those who want more technical depth than a traditional account management position offers.

What you'll do

·       Act as the primary point of contact for our customer on all operational and maintenance matters for the highwall miner

·       Deliver rapid, responsive support to customers for technical issues, breakdowns, and spare parts requirements, minimising equipment downtime

·       Grow the business's technical and operational capability in the highwall mining sector, positioning the company as a trusted specialist in the field

·       Support the rollout of a new service level agreement, coordinating parts and service work back through our Mackay workshop

·       Work closely with our Product Support, Engineering and Supply Chain teams as we build local capability

·       Help lay the foundations of a growing regional service and support function as our Australian fleet expands

What you'll bring

·       Comfortable being the face of the business for a major account — equal parts technical credibility and relationship management

·       Genuinely hands-on and field-based by preference, not someone who defaults to the office

·       Flexible around variable hours and site demands, balanced with real time off in lieu

·       A natural problem-solver, resourceful, able to adapt on the fly

·       Comfortable collaborating with an internal Sales, Service and technical team

Experience and qualifications

·       Experience with highwall mining equipment highly desirable; at minimum, solid exposure to open-cut operations

·       Underground mining exposure (bord and pillar or longwall) highly regarded

·       Background in mining maintenance, product support or technical account management

·       Willingness to travel regularly to site on a non-FIFO basis

·       Current driver's license; site inductions and tickets as required
