Junior Sommelier – Pt. Leo Estate

With home to three diverse dining spaces, Pt. Leo Estate is seeking a passionate Junior Sommelier to join our award-winning wine team. This is a rare opportunity to elevate your wine career within one of Australia’s most respected hospitality destinations, working across both Estate wines and two highly regarded wine lists.

Located in Merricks on the Mornington Peninsula, Pt. Leo Estate is a multi-award-winning property just one hour from Melbourne. Working closely with our Director of Beverage Amy Oliver, and senior team, you will be supported to develop your skills across service, sales, and wine knowledge in a dynamic, high-performing environment.

About the Role:

• Assist in delivering thoughtful wine service across our venues, including our two-hatted fine dining restaurant, Laura

• Support wine pairings and gain exposure to an extensive international wine list

• Build foundational knowledge through hands-on experience in restaurant service, cellar operations, and tastings

• Work across multiple facets of the business including restaurant service, cellar door, events, and stock management

• Enjoy a structured roster with a strong focus on work-life balance

• Be part of a culture that values learning, with access to mentorship, in-house training, and support for WSET or equivalent studies

About You:

• A genuine passion for wine and hospitality, with proven experience in quality restaurants or wine-focused environments

• A strong desire to learn, with an interest in pursuing formal wine qualifications

• A positive, team-oriented mindset with the confidence to engage with guests and share knowledge

• Willingness to contribute to service across multiple areas and support the broader team

• Highly motivated with an eagerness to develop sales skills and product knowledge

• Committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences with professionalism and humility

• Available to work weekends and public holidays
