About the role
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Bays Healthcare Group is seeking experienced and passionate Theatre Nurses to join our dynamic perioperative team on a casual basis, working across Anaesthetics, PACU or Scrub/Scout.
Our Theatre Nurses play a vital role in delivering safe, high-quality and patient-centred perioperative care to patients undergoing a diverse range of surgical procedures. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced perioperative nurses seeking flexible casual employment within a supportive and collaborative theatre environment.
We are seeking Theatre Nurses with experience in Anaesthetics, PACU, or Scrub/ Scout to join our perioperative team. We welcome applications from nurses with experience across one or multiple areas of the theatre environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver safe, evidence-based and patient-centred nursing care throughout the perioperative journey.
Work across Anaesthetics, PACU or Scrub/ Scout according to your skills, experience and competency.
Assist surgeons, anaesthetists and the multidisciplinary theatre team during surgical procedures.
Monitor patients and respond appropriately to changes in their clinical condition.
Prepare and maintain the operating theatre, equipment and supplies to ensure theatre readiness.
Maintain safe and effective infection prevention and control practices.
Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation and patient records.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, WH&S requirements, hospital policies and clinical procedures.
Contribute to quality improvement, risk management and patient safety initiatives.
Support a positive and collaborative team environment.
Provide support, guidance and mentoring to new and student staff, as appropriate to experience and competency.
ABOUT YOU:
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills, experience and attributes:
Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse – Division 1 or Endorsed Enrolled Nurse.
Minimum 2 years' recent experience in an operating theatre or perioperative nursing environment.
Demonstrated experience in Anaesthetics, PACU, or Scrub/ Scout.
Strong clinical knowledge and demonstrated perioperative nursing skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication, organisation and time management skills.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and effectively manage competing priorities.
A commitment to safe, high-quality and patient-centred care.
Demonstrated understanding of infection prevention and control and WH&S requirements.
A commitment to continuous professional development and clinical excellence.
