About the role

We are seeking a Jewellery Store Sales Assosiate to join our team at our Buddina, Queensland location on a full-time/part time basis. In this role, you will be the face of McLean & Co Jewellers, providing outstanding customer service and driving sales through product knowledge and genuine engagement. This position is integral to creating memorable shopping experiences and building lasting customer relationships that reflect our brand values. Your role development will see you trained to cover the owners when they are away taking the reins in their absence.

What you'll be doing

• Greeting customers warmly and assessing their needs to provide personalised jewellery recommendations and booking design consults with the design team.

• Demonstrating product knowledge and sharing the features, quality and value of our jewellery collections

• Processing sales transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems and handling cash and card payments

• Maintaining an attractive and organised store display, ensuring jewellery is showcased effectively

• Assisting with inventory management, stock checks and restocking of merchandise

• Building and maintaining strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business and loyalty

• Handling customer inquiries, concerns and returns professionally and courteously

• Contributing to a positive team environment and supporting colleagues to deliver excellent service

• Adhering to store policies, security protocols and health and safety requirements

• Handling admin tasks such as processing completed jobs, postage, processing completed valuations and filing etc....

• Working with the owners and social media team to create and post social media content to our Facebook and Instagram pages.

• Photography of jewellery for uploading to stock and valuation platforms.

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in Jewellery or luxury goods sales, customer service or a related sales environment

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with customers

• Excellent numeracy skills and accuracy when handling cash and processing transactions

• A genuine interest in jewellery and a willingness to develop product knowledge

• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team

• Reliability and punctuality with a professional appearance and demeanour

• Ability to work retail hours, including saturdays and school holidays is required

• Strong organisational and attention-to-detail skills

• Experience working in a designer jeweller/gemmology environment with sketching ability is advantageous.

• Social media marketing experience is required.
