An Occupational Therapist (OT) helps individuals of all ages improve their ability to perform daily activities due to physical, developmental, emotional, or cognitive challenges. They assess patients' needs, develop personalized treatment plans, and use therapeutic techniques to help clients regain independence and improve their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patients' physical and mental abilities through functional assessments.
• Develop customized treatment plans based on patient goals and needs.
• Teach patients how to perform daily tasks more independently using adaptive strategies or equipment.
• Provide therapeutic exercises and interventions to enhance motor skills, coordination, and functionality.
• Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to support patient progress.
• Educate patients and caregivers on safe and effective techniques for home and workplace use.
• Document patient progress and adjust therapy plans as needed.
• Stay current with best practices and relevant occupational therapy techniques.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy (or Doctorate where required).
• Licensure or certification as required by state or national regulatory boards.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, patient-focused approach.

Work Settings:

• Hospitals, rehabilitation centers, clinics
• Schools, nursing homes, community health organizations
• Home healthcare services or private practice

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $46.00 – $50.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Pakenham VIC: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Occupational therapy: 1 year (Preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• Working with Children Check (Preferred)
• AHPRA registration (Preferred)
• Driver Licence (Preferred)
