About the role
As a Finance Analyst, you'll partner closely with the Divisional Finance Manager (Digital) to support the financial performance, governance, and planning activities across AEMO's Digital division. In this role, you'll contribute to financial planning and analysis (FP&A), providing valuable insights that support informed decision-making and drive operational efficiency. You'll play a key role in monitoring financial performance across business-as-usual operations, projects, and transformation initiatives, helping to optimise outcomes while ensuring strong financial governance and oversight
What you will be doing
Partner with the Divisional Finance Manager (Digital) to support financial performance across operating and capital expenditure (Opex and Capex), providing analysis and insights that drive informed decision-making.
Coordinate and support the development, forecasting, and reporting of budgets, helping stakeholders understand key performance drivers and financial outcomes.
Provide financial oversight and governance for operational and project-based initiatives, ensuring accurate financial management and reporting of capital investments.
Build strong relationships with business leaders, cost centre owners, project managers, and finance stakeholders to deliver trusted financial advice and support.
Identify and implement process improvement opportunities, including automation and enhanced reporting, while delivering financial modelling, analysis, and insights that optimise business performance and resource utilisation.
What you will bring to the role
Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
Strong financial acumen, including experience preparing and analysing budgets, forecasts, and financial performance reports.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify key drivers of performance and communicate insights clearly to stakeholders.
Strong attention to detail, numeracy skills, and a continuous improvement mindset, with experience identifying process enhancements and efficiencies.
Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence outcomes, and translate financial data into meaningful business insights.
