Produce Manager - Rottnest General Store

We have an exciting opportunity available for a passionate and experienced Department Manager to join our Rottnest General Store in our Produce Department.

Working and living on Rottnest Island, where it’s beautiful one day, spectacular the next, you will be responsible for the successful operation of the Produce Department within the store, and to deliver an exceptional fresh food offering to our customers. 

We are looking for not just a retailer but a passionate foodie who can lead their team, who embraces change and can create a market leading offer.

This is a permanent full-time salaried position offered with heavily subsidised accommodation to support the requirement to live on the Island.

Skills required:

• Previous Retail Department Manager experience, Produce experience is preferred

• Experience leading and developing a team

• Exceptional customer service experience and merchandising ability

• Ability to manage and lead the team, ensuring compliance to Food safety standards

• Excellent communication and organisational skills

• IT knowledge/Microsoft/Smart Retail/ABCIS

Key responsibilities

• To have full responsibility for the successful operation of the Department within the store

• To lead and develop your team

• To work closely with the local community to meet and exceed their food expectation's with an ‘of course’ attitude

• To ensure customers receive an exceptional shopping experience 

• Ensure adherence to all safety standards and requirements across the store
