Project Manager - Water & Wastewater Infrastructure

About the Opportunity
Our client is a leading Design & Construct contractor delivering critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects across Western Australia.Due to continued project growth, they are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex water and wastewater projects from design development through procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.Working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and delivery teams, you will be responsible for driving project performance across safety, quality, programme, commercial outcomes and client satisfaction.This is an excellent opportunity for a senior project professional who enjoys operating at the intersection of engineering, construction and stakeholder management while delivering essential infrastructure that supports communities and industry across Western Australia.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.Manage projects through all phases including design coordination, procurement, construction, commissioning and client handover.Take ownership of project budgets, programme, resource planning and commercial performance.Manage multidisciplinary delivery teams including engineers, site managers, supervisors and subcontractors.Drive project safety performance and ensure compliance with client, regulatory and company requirements.Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, local authorities and key stakeholders.Manage contract administration, variations, claims, risk management and project reporting.Oversee design development and coordinate engineering disciplines to ensure constructability and efficient project delivery.Monitor project progress and proactively manage risks, opportunities and project constraints.Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.Support tender submissions, bid development and strategic business opportunities where required.Mentor and develop emerging project engineers and project management professionals.
About You
Essential Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental or Process Engineering, or a related discipline.15+ years of project delivery experience within water, wastewater or broader infrastructure sectors.Demonstrated experience delivering Design & Construct (D&C) projects.Strong understanding of water infrastructure including: Water treatment plantsWastewater treatment plantsPump stationsPipelinesStorage facilitiesProcess infrastructureProven experience managing contracts ranging from approximately $20M to $200M+.Strong commercial acumen with experience managing project budgets, forecasts and financial performance.Excellent stakeholder engagement and client management skills.Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in complex project environments.Strong understanding of contract administration and risk management.Valid Australian work rights and ability to work in Perth.
Preferred Experience
Experience working on Water Corporation WA projects.Experience delivering projects under AS4000, AS4902, EPC or D&C contract models.Project Management Professional (PMP), AIPM or equivalent qualifications.Experience leading alliance, collaborative contracting or major infrastructure delivery models.Existing relationships across the Western Australian water sector.
