Experienced Dental Receptionist / Treatment Coordinator

About the role

Medindie Dental is seeking an experienced Dental Receptionist / Treatment Coordinator to join our thriving dental practice in Medindie Gardens, South Australia. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in ensuring our patients receive exceptional service from their first point of contact through to completion of their treatment. As Dental Receptionist / Treatment Coordinator, you will be the face of our practice, responsible for creating a welcoming environment whilst managing complex administrative and clinical coordination tasks. This position is essential to the smooth operation of our practice and directly impacts patient satisfaction and practice profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Greeting patients warmly and professionally, managing check-in procedures and maintaining accurate patient records

• Scheduling appointments efficiently, balancing practitioner availability with patient needs and managing the appointment book

• Processing patient payments, invoicing, and handling insurance claims and payment arrangements

• Coordinating treatment plans between patients and clinical staff, explaining procedures and associated costs clearly to patients

• Assisting with treatment coordination by preparing treatment documentation, consent forms and patient education materials

• Managing patient communication via phone, email and in-person, responding to enquiries and addressing concerns professionally

• Maintaining confidentiality and complying with relevant privacy legislation and dental practice protocols at all times

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Dental Receptionist or Treatment Coordinator, ideally in a busy dental practice environment

• Proficiency with dental practice management software and general computer applications including email and Microsoft Office

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact confidently with patients, practitioners and team members

• Strong organisational and time-management abilities with the capacity to prioritise multiple tasks effectively

• Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures and treatment planning processes

• Excellent telephone manner and professional presentation

• Understanding of dental insurance claims processing and patient payment systems

• Experience working with Implant and AOX treatments is advantageous.
