Machine Operator

About the role

EPE is looking for a Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team in Bibra Lake. This is a hands-on manufacturing role primarily responsible for operating four key pieces of production equipment: CNC Router, Hydraulic Hose Crimper, CNC Plasma Cutter, and Metal Tube Bender. These machines are used to manufacture a diverse range of products and components for customers across mining, marine, power generation, transport, agriculture and general industry. You'll be responsible for setting up and operating machinery safely and efficiently, following drawings and work instructions, checking the quality and dimensions of your work and ensuring jobs are completed accurately and on time.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate machinery for different jobs, materials and production requirements

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, job cards and production instructions

• Select the correct materials, tooling and machine settings for each job

• Load materials and prepare machinery for production

• Manufacture components in accordance with drawings, dimensions and specifications

• Measure and inspect completed components to verify dimensional accuracy and quality

• Monitor machinery during operation and identify potential problems

• Make appropriate adjustments to maintain product quality and production efficiency

• Identify defects, dimensional errors and other quality issues before products progress to the next stage of manufacture

• Complete production and job documentation accurately

About you

• Previous experience operating machinery in a manufacturing, fabrication or industrial environment

• Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving ability

• The ability to understand machine settings and operating procedures

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate work

• The ability to read and follow engineering drawings, measurements, job instructions and specifications

• Confidence using measuring and inspection equipment

• An understanding of workplace safety and safe machine operation

• The ability to identify problems and stop or correct a job when something isn't right

• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple production jobs

• A current Australian driver's licence
