About My Korean School

My Korean School is a Korean language and culture school located in the heart of Melbourne CBD. We offer small-group classes from beginner to advanced levels, with a strong focus on practical communication, cultural understanding and meaningful connection.

Our students are passionate about Korean language and culture, including Korean dramas, K-pop and Korean food. Through engaging lessons, cultural events and community activities, we have created a warm and supportive environment where students feel motivated to learn and participate.

We are looking for enthusiastic and dependable Korean language tutors who share our commitment to high-quality teaching and would enjoy contributing to a professional, collaborative and creative team.

About the Role

As a Korean Language Tutor at My Korean School, you will:

• Deliver engaging and well-structured Korean lessons to small groups, both face-to-face and online

• Follow the school’s curriculum, teaching methodology and classroom procedures

• Use high-quality lesson materials and resources provided by the school

• Support students through homework, vocabulary practice and other learning activities

• Monitor student participation and progress

• Communicate professionally with students and the school’s management team

• Collaborate with other teachers to provide a consistent and positive learning experience

• Use digital teaching platforms and educational technology effectively

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

We are looking for applicants who have:

• A bachelor’s degree or higher from a recognised tertiary institution (required)

• A degree or formal qualification in Korean language education, Korean studies, linguistics, education or a closely related field (highly regarded)

• Previous teaching or tutoring experience in Korean or another subject

• Excellent communication skills in both Korean and English

• Strong organisational, interpersonal and classroom-management skills

• A professional, reliable and student-focused approach

• The ability to prepare for and deliver lessons using the materials provided

• A willingness to learn and consistently follow My Korean School’s curriculum, teaching methodology and professional standards

• The ability to respond positively to feedback and work collaboratively

• Valid Australian work rights for at least 12 months

Applicants with limited teaching experience are welcome to apply, provided they meet the minimum qualification requirement and demonstrate strong communication skills, professionalism and a genuine commitment to developing as a teacher.

Digital and Technology Skills

Our face-to-face and online classes use a range of digital platforms. Applicants should be confident using—or able to quickly learn—commonly used online and educational tools, including:

• Google Workspace, particularly Google Docs, Google Drive and Google Slides

• Zoom and other online teaching platforms

• Online homework, vocabulary and classroom-management tools

• Educational AI tools used for teaching, student support and administrative tasks

Tutors should be comfortable teaching online, sharing digital resources and adapting to new technology. All digital and AI tools must be used responsibly and in accordance with the school’s policies, including privacy, copyright and academic-integrity requirements.
