About the role
We are seeking a dedicated, empathetic, and proactive Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant school community. Supporting students within our Primary School, you will play a central role in delivering educational assistance while upholding our core values of Faith, Performance, and Honour. In this role, student wellbeing and child safeguarding are paramount. Working under the guidance of classroom teachers, Deans, and Deputy Principals, you will ensure every child feels safe, valued, and empowered to achieve their full potential in an inclusive, supportive environment.
Key responsibilities
Actively model, promote, and enforce child-safe practices in line with the School's Child Safe Framework and ASC Code of Conduct. Apply social-emotional learning and positive behaviour strategies to nurture student confidence and resilience
Assist teachers with the implementation of literacy, numeracy, and subject-specific programs. Support individual students and small groups, adapting strategies to meet diverse learning needs
Provide watchful, caring supervision during classwork, outdoor breaks, events, and excursions
Prepare classroom materials, maintain learning spaces, assist with basic assessment monitoring, and document anecdotal student observations aligned with the Australian Teacher Aide Professional Standards (ATAPS)
About you
Certificate III or IV in Education Support (or currently studying toward a Bachelor of Education)
Valid Working with Children Check (Blue Card or Exemption Card)
Current First Aid & CPR certificates (Desirable)
Demonstrated understanding of child development, inclusive learning, and classroom dynamics
High emotional intelligence, exceptional communication skills, and a collaborative mindset
Alignment with the Anglican Ethos and values of the School
