Role Description The Procurement Officer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Sydney, NSW. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities, including sourcing suppliers, preparing and processing purchase orders, and overseeing purchasing transactions to ensure timely delivery of goods and services. The Procurement Officer will evaluate vendor performance, support contract negotiations, and maintain accurate procurement records in alignment with company policies and budget requirements. Daily tasks include analyzing purchasing data, identifying cost-saving opportunities, coordinating with internal stakeholders on material and service requirements, and ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and ethical standards. The role also involves supporting continuous improvement in procurement processes and building effective relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in procurement and purchasing, with a strong understanding of supply chain and vendor management.Proficiency in managing and processing purchase orders, including documentation, tracking, and systems-based workflows.Experience with contract negotiation, including evaluating terms, pricing, and service levels to support organizational objectives.Strong analytical skills to interpret purchasing data, identify trends, and recommend cost and process improvements.Relevant tertiary qualification in business, supply chain management, commerce, or a related field is highly regarded.Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across engineering, operations, and finance teams.Competence in using ERP or procurement software and standard office applications.Knowledge of manufacturing or industrial environments is beneficial, particularly in metals, materials, or related sectors.Ability to work on-site in Sydney, NSW, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
