About the Role

This is a hands-on WHS role for someone who wants to build real expertise in a fast-paced, multi-site operational environment. As our WHS Officer, you'll support the delivery and continuous improvement of workplace health and safety outcomes across El Jannah's restaurant and support operations. Reporting to the WHS Manager, you'll lead return-to-work coordination and injury management, support day-to-day safety activities including hazard identification, risk assessments, and incident management, and contribute to the ongoing rollout and administration of our WHS management systems. You'll be a visible, approachable presence for frontline restaurant teams, working closely with operational leaders to keep our people safe and our restaurants compliant. What You'll Be Doing

• Leading the coordination of return-to-work plans in collaboration with injured workers, restaurant managers, treating practitioners, and insurers
• Acting as the key liaison with workers' compensation insurers, managing claims progression and associated correspondence
• Supporting and participating in incident investigations across restaurant operations, identifying root causes and practical preventative controls
• Assisting with restaurant-level risk assessments and the development of control measures
• Contributing to compliance monitoring against WHS legislation, internal policies, and operational safety standards
• Supporting the administration and optimisation of WHS management systems including incident reporting, injury management, and compliance tracking
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date WHS documentation including policies, procedures, and SOPs relevant to restaurant environments
• Supporting the delivery of WHS inductions and training programs for restaurant employees
• Contributing to safety awareness initiatives and campaigns across the network
• Acting as a visible and approachable WHS contact for frontline restaurant teams, promoting a positive safety culture

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience in a WHS or injury management role
• Demonstrated experience in workers' compensation, return-to-work coordination, or injury management
• Background in hospitality, restaurant, or fast-food environments is advantageous
• Working knowledge of WHS legislation and standards
• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety desirable
• Return to Work Coordinator training desirable
• First Aid and CPR certification mandatory
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with willingness to learn WHS systems and software
• Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to work
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially when supporting injured workers through their recovery
• Proactive, curious, and eager to grow your WHS capability
• Graduates with relevant placement or internship experience in WHS or injury management are encouraged to apply
