About the role
At Real Schools, we work with educators across Australia and New Zealand to build school cultures that genuinely build better people.
We’re looking for an in-house YouTube Strategist & Producer to take ownership of our YouTube channel and help us tell that story at scale.
The purpose of this role is to build YouTube and long-form content into a meaningful growth channel for Real Schools – attracting prospective schools, building trust and interest in our approach, and creating a clear pathway from audience to partnership conversation.
You’ll work closely with our founder, Adam Voigt, to develop the strategy, plan the content and turn his ideas and our work into videos people genuinely want to watch, and which compel them to take action.
This is both a strategic and hands-on role. You’ll decide what content we should make and why, then take it from concept through to filming, editing, publishing and optimisation.
This role is part-time (2.5–3 days per week), with a salary of $90,000 pro rata.
About the Job
Own and develop our YouTube strategy and content plan
Generate video ideas, formats and series based on our audience and growth opportunities
Design the pathway from viewer to prospective partner – considering content, calls to action, lead capture, landing pages and other opportunities to turn audience attention into qualified interest and sales meetings
Build and manage the content calendar
Work with our Founder to turn ideas and expertise into compelling content
Create concepts, hooks, titles, thumbnails and narratives that are consistent and compelling
Develop and test content formats, topics, hooks, CTAs and conversion pathways, using the results to continually refine the strategy
Film and edit long-form YouTube content and short-form content for other channels
Use YouTube Analytics to understand what’s working and improve what we make next
Capture events, workshops and school stories where they support the content strategy
Grow our profile and authority with school leaders in a way that strengthens awareness, trust and demand for Real Schools.
This is a part-time role (2.5 or 3 days per week), with a salary of $90,000 pro rata.
About You
You have demonstrated experience creating and planning content for YouTube
You understand YouTube strategy, audience growth, retention, titles, thumbnails and packaging
You understand that content is part of a broader marketing and customer journey, and can think beyond views and subscribers to leads, conversion and commercial outcomes
You can turn audience insights and ideas into a practical content plan
You’re a strong storyteller who knows how to make expertise interesting
You’re confident filming and editing your own content
You understand YouTube Analytics and use performance to inform creative decisions
You can work closely with a founder or subject-matter expert and draw out great content
You’re curious, proactive and comfortable taking ownership
You care about quality, but you also know how to move quickly
Role Location
You will need to be based in Melbourne and willing/able to travel to the Mornington Peninsula weekly. This role may involve some travel to schools and events across Australia and New Zealand (at Real Schools’ expense).
About Real Schools and Adam
Real Schools works with educators across Australia and New Zealand to transform school culture through restorative practices.
That means helping schools move away from reactive, inconsistent responses to behaviour and towards something more predictable, fair and human. When that shift happens, classrooms run better, staff feel more confident, and students know how to repair things when they go wrong.
The work is led by our CEO and Founder Adam Voigt, a former principal who’s spent years working alongside schools to make restorative practices practical and sustainable in real settings.
