Project Manager - Fabrication

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager - Fabrication to lead the successful delivery of structural steel, mechanical, piping and fabrication projects across the mining, industrial, commercial and resource sectors. Reporting to senior management, you will be responsible for overseeing projects from tender through to completion, including estimating, tender submissions, quoting, procurement, project execution, quality management and client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and manage tender submissions, quotations and cost estimates.

• Review drawings, specifications and contract documentation.

• Manage fabrication, structural steel, mechanical and piping projects from award to handover.

• Develop project schedules, budgets and resource plans.

• Coordinate workshop production and site installation activities.

• Manage project procurement, subcontractors and supplier relationships.

• Monitor project costs, margins, variations and commercial performance.

• Liaise with clients, engineers, inspectors and project stakeholders.

• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to specification.

• Oversee quality assurance, inspection and testing requirements.

About you

• Previous experience in an SMP Management, Fabrication Management or Project Management role.

• Strong knowledge of structural steel, mechanical and piping fabrication.

• Experience preparing tenders, quotations and project estimates.

• Demonstrated understanding of workshop operations and site construction activities.

• Strong commercial acumen with experience managing project budgets and profitability.

• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

• Excellent leadership, communication and negotiation skills.

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.

• Current Driver's Licence and Construction White Card.
