Medical Receptionist - Busy GP clinic in Brighton

About the role

This role is for around 15 hours a week, initially as a casual, but with ability to convert to permanent part-time. You will be working in a private billing clinic consisting of a friendly team of seven full-time doctors, two part-time doctors, two nurses, a practice manager and four receptionists. The clinic is located in a beautiful heritage building near Martin Street Village and Gardenvale train station in Brighton.

Key responsibilities

• Answering phone calls and responding to queries

• Booking appointments in clinical software (Best Practice)

• Checking in patients on arrival

• Billing

• Sending, receiving and filing faxes, emails and post

• Minor cleaning duties

About you

• Experience as a medical receptionist, preferably in a GP clinic

• Good phone and communication skills

• Strong computer skills

• Enthusiastic, friendly and professional

• High attention to detail

• Ability to work alone or in a team

• Ability to multi-task and keep calm in a busy environment

• Fast learner

• Prior experience with Best Practice and HotDoc patient management software will be helpful, as will familiarity with Medicare billing items and processes.
