Gallagher Bassett is looking for a values-led workers compensation leader who cares deeply about people, culture and the communities we serve, and who wants to help shape the future of our NSW Nominal Insurer business.

You do not need to have held a General Manager title before. What matters is your proven ability to lead through complexity, bring teams together and create an environment where strong technical capability, deep claims experience, care and teamwork combine to deliver meaningful outcomes for injured workers, employers, our people and the broader community.

This role will suit someone ready to take the next step in their leadership career, with support around them, to build high-performing teams, deliver scheme-leading technical capability and sustainable return to work outcomes at scale. You will derive energy from working closely with our staff and customers, understanding the importance of being physically and emotionally present for them.

• Lead and inspire a large workers' compensation operation, delivering outstanding client and customer outcomes.
• Drive performance against operational, financial, service and quality targets.
• Develop and execute strategic plans aligned with organisational and customer objectives..
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, regulators and key stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, innovation and service enhancement.
• Partner with executive leaders to support business growth, transformation and strategic initiatives.
• Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, collaboration and performance excellence.

• A hands-on approach that thrives on engaging with people and passionate about the important work we do
• Expert knowledge of workers compensation, claims management and the technical levers that support sustainable recovery and return to work.
• A demonstrated ability to deliver return to work outcomes at scale through disciplined execution, care, collaboration and strong operational focus.
• A track record of building high-performing, team-oriented cultures where people are clear on expectations, supported to succeed and proud of the outcomes they deliver.
• Experience leading teams, developing future leaders and lifting technical capability so our people can deliver scheme-leading claims outcomes.
• A genuine excitement for customer experience, continuous improvement, claims excellence and the communities we support.
• The confidence to engage stakeholders, influence outcomes and operate with credibility across the Scheme.
