Service Technician / Engineer – BMS and Automation

About the role

Controlworks is a building management and automation systems integrator. In this role you will diagnose faults, deliver practical solutions, and help ensure critical building systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently. You will work directly with clients and alongside our engineers and project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative and reactive maintenance across client sites.

• Troubleshoot and resolve faults on building management systems, controllers, field devices, sensors, HVAC plant, and associated systems.

• Assist with commissioning, testing, and system modifications.

• Complete detailed service reports and maintain accurate service records.

• Build strong relationships with clients through professional service and technical support.

• Identify opportunities for system improvements and additional service works.

• Support project delivery teams with site-based commissioning and technical activities.

• Provide occasional after-hours support and respond to callouts when required.

• Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company and client requirements.

About you

• An interest in building automation, controls, HVAC, electrical, electronics, IT and networking, instrumentation, or a related technical field.

• Hands-on technical or field experience is essential.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• The ability to interpret technical drawings, manuals, and specifications.

• Good communication and customer service skills.

• A proactive approach to managing and prioritising your work.

• A commitment to safety and quality outcomes.

• A current Australian driver's licence.

• A willingness to provide occasional after-hours support when required.
