The primary purpose of the position is for the clinical management and leadership of the Acute stream which is located in the Parkview Unit. The Parkview Unit is a 14 bed high dependency unit critical to the consumer flow of the NSLHD. The aim of the unit is to care for and treat people in the acute phases of their illness and return consumers as quickly as possible to the community. This includes consumer assessment and management including the ongoing clinical review of all consumers admitted. Ensuring regular medical entries into electronic medical records (eMR). Construct suitable diagnostic formulations and management plans in consultation with the registrar and in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. Participation in the on-call roster as directed by the Clinical Director, human resources management, financial management and consideration of the hospital budget when prescribing and ordering tests/
treatments. Show capacity for warmth, empathy and sensitivity whilst interacting with consumers.
The position will provide clinical management and treatment of consumers under your care in a Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) facility or service. This care will be provided within the scope of practice endorsed by the NSLHD Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee (MDAAC).
Provision of clinical consultation services within NSLHD and contribution to the teaching and training of medical officers, students, graduates and other health care professionals and to research, evaluation and quality improvement activities.
