Working hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm

Teacher's aides work collaboratively with teachers and therapists to implement effective teaching and learning programs for our students. See our website www.giantsteps.net.au for more information about our services and model.

Duties & responsibilities

• Support teachers to prepare, manage, and set up teaching resources

• Support students in the daily class program

• Support the implementation and evaluation of class programs for the students, including the outdoor and sports program

• Collaborate effectively within the transdisciplinary team

• Respect and support colleagues and families through positive communication

• Actively ensure the ongoing provision of quality teaching for students with autism

Requirements

• Current Working with Children Check

• Experience with supporting autistic young people with complex support needs, either in a school or community setting

• First aid certificate or be willing to obtain one

• Highly energetic with a passion for physical activity

• Have an active approach to interacting and engaging with children and teens

• Strong team skills

• Strong communication skills
