About the role

Ferntree Gully Automotive is seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Used Car Sales Consultant to join our sales team in Ferntree Gully, VIC 3156. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to build a rewarding career in automotive sales. As a Used Car Sales Consultant, you will be at the forefront of our business, engaging with customers, showcasing our vehicle inventory (over 160 cars on site), and facilitating successful sales transactions. This role is pivotal to our growth and success, as you will directly contribute to our revenue whilst building lasting relationships with clients.

What you'll be doing

• Greeting and welcoming customers to the dealership, assessing their needs and preferences

• Conducting thorough vehicle demonstrations and test drives to highlight key features and benefits

• Providing detailed product knowledge about our used car inventory, including vehicle history, specifications and condition reports

• Negotiating and closing sales whilst maintaining transparency and integrity in all transactions

• Preparing sales documentation and ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately and efficiently

• Following up with customers post-sale to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business and referrals

• Maintaining an organised showroom and ensuring all vehicles are presented to the highest standard

• Meeting and exceeding sales targets and performance metrics on a consistent basis

• Staying informed about current vehicle models, market trends and competitive offerings

• Building a pipeline of potential customers through relationship management and networking

What we're looking for

• Proven track record in automotive sales or a similar customer-facing sales environment

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport quickly with diverse customers

• Excellent negotiation and closing techniques with a results-driven mentality

• Valid driver's licence and comfortable conducting test drives

• Knowledge of vehicle specifications, features and market trends

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail when handling documentation

• Enthusiasm for the automotive industry and genuine passion for delivering exceptional customer service

• Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays as required in the automotive sales industry

• Certificate III in Automotive Sales (or equivalent) preferred but not essential for experienced candidates
