Aerodrome Management Services (AMS) is a leading Australian aviation consultancy and airport operations provider, delivering specialist aerodrome management, security, compliance, training, technical services and operational support to airports across Australia.

We’re seeking motivated and customer-focused Relief Aviation Screening Officers to join our team on a casual basis.

This is a national FIFO and travel-based role. Successful applicants will travel extensively across Australia to provide relief coverage at different AMS airport sites, including regional, remote and metropolitan locations. This role is not based at one permanent airport and requires a high level of flexibility and willingness to work away from home.

About the Role

As a Relief Aviation Screening Officer, you’ll play a vital role in protecting passengers, aircraft and airport operations across multiple airport locations throughout Australia. You’ll be the face of airport security, ensuring screening activities are conducted professionally while delivering a positive customer experience.

This is a hands-on role where no two deployments are the same. You’ll travel to different airport sites, work with new teams and stakeholders, and adapt quickly to different operational environments while maintaining the highest standards of aviation security and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conduct passenger and baggage screening activities across multiple airport locations
• Travel extensively across Australia to provide relief coverage
• Undertake FIFO deployments and work away from home as required
• Ensure compliance with aviation security regulations and procedures
• Provide exceptional customer service in a professional airport environment
• Monitor and report security incidents or irregularities
• Maintain accurate records and documentation
• Contribute to a safe, secure and welcoming airport experience

Qualifications & Requirements

• Certificate II in Transport Security Protection (preferred) or willingness to obtain
• Full training may be provided to suitable applicants
• Ability to obtain Dangerous Goods Awareness Training and First Aid certification
• Hold, or be eligible to obtain, an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical assessment
• Willingness to participate in random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with Civil Aviation Safety Regulations
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively across Australia
• Availability to undertake FIFO deployments and work away from home
• Ability to work across different airport sites as operationally required
• Australian working rights
