About the role

The Oaks Carpentry Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and skilled Carpenter to join our team in Ipswich, QLD. This is a full-time position where you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality carpentry to our valued clients. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and finishing various jobs, contributing to the successful completion of residential projects. Your expertise and attention to detail will be essential in maintaining our reputation for excellence within the carpentry industry.

What you'll be doing

• Leading the team day to day tasks, working as a team to complete jobs in a timely manner with a quality finish.

• Using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to shape and finish materials

• Reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, and technical drawings

• Framing, cladding, fix outs, Decks and custom carpentry.

• Ensuring all work meets relevant Australian building codes and safety standards

• Maintaining a clean and organised work site, disposing of waste materials appropriately

• Collaborating with other tradespeople and following instructions from supervisors

• Inspecting completed work to ensure quality meets project specifications

What we're looking for

• A recognised carpentry qualification or apprenticeship in carpentry or cabinet making

• Proven experience working as a carpenter in residential and/or commercial settings

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints

• Solid knowledge of timber types, joinery techniques, and finishing methods

• Competency in using both hand tools and power tools safely and accurately

• A current or valid driver's licence, with suitable towing vehicle.

• Understanding of relevant Australian building codes and workplace health and safety regulations

• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team

• Reliable, punctual, and professional approach to work

• Experience in residential carpentry and decks is preferred

• Knowledge of sustainable timber practices and environmental considerations is advantageous
