About the role
Patiala Food Hub is a reputable and growing Indian restaurant based in Adelaide, offering authentic Indian cuisine with a focus on quality, consistency, and customer satisfaction. We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Chef specialising in Indian cuisine to join our team on a full-time basis.
As a Chef, you will be responsible for planning and organising food preparation and cooking operations within the kitchen. You will work closely with management and kitchen staff to ensure efficient kitchen operations and consistently high standards of food quality, taste, presentation and service.
Plan and develop menus featuring authentic Indian dishes
Prepare, season, and cook a wide range of Indian curries, tandoori dishes, breads, and desserts
Ensure consistent presentation, portion control, and quality of all dishes
Monitor and manage all stages of food preparation and cooking processes
Demonstrate advanced knowledge of Indian spices, cooking techniques, and traditional recipes
Supervise kitchen staff, including cooks and kitchen hands
Train staff in preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety practices
Manage stock levels, order supplies, and control food costs
Ensure compliance with food safety standards and hygiene regulations
Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment
Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification)
Minimum 1 year of full-time relevant work experience
Proven experience in Indian cuisine (tandoor, curry, and regional dishes)
Strong understanding of kitchen operations and food safety standards
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
