About the role

The CAMHS Clinician – Social Worker accepts accountability for the outcomes of clinical practice for children, adolescents and their families with mental health issues and for addressing inconsistencies between practice and policy. The CAMHS Clinician – Social Worker is operationally accountable to the Team Manager through the Clinical Services Coordinator, and professionally to the Senior Social Worker, for delivering specialist child and adolescent mental health care to consumers with complex needs.

Key duties of the role

• Provide a Therapeutic/Clinical Assessment and Intervention Service to a client base consisting of children, adolescents and their families
• Participating in the identification of mental health needs in the community and in the planning, execution and evaluation of programs to meet those needs
• Maintaining statistical information of activities for planning research, service delivery and service development
• Contributing as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to the development of policy and procedures at staff meetings and in other specified venues
• Participating in approved professional development activities

Skills and Experience

• Appropriate degree/equivalent qualification eligible for registration as an Occupational Therapist with AHPRA.
• Eligible for current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
• Demonstrated experience in complex clinical assessment and intervention with children, adolescents and families.
• Experience developing, implementing and evaluating preventative and/or therapeutic programs.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams, with knowledge of developmental theory, assessment/intervention models and child/adolescent mental health.
