Planner

We’re looking for an experienced Operations Planner to join our transport team. If you’re organised, decisive and enjoy solving problems in a fast-paced environment, this could be the role for you.

In this permanent, full-time position, you will be responsible for:

• Planning loads, routes and driver schedules

• Allocating jobs efficiently across the fleet

• Maximising fleet utilisation and minimising empty running

• Monitoring daily operations and responding to changes or disruptions

• Maintaining accurate job, driver and system information

• Communicating effectively with drivers, customers and the broader operations team

• Ensuring planning activities comply with fatigue management and safety requirements

To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:

• Previous transport planning, scheduling or allocation experience

• Strong knowledge of the transport and logistics industry

• Excellent organisation, communication and problem-solving skills

• The confidence to make sound decisions under pressure

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities

• Good computer and transport management system skills

• Experience with Ignition or Translogix will be highly regarded

• Working knowledge of Chain of Responsibility (CoR) legislation and compliance requirements is essential

• Basic Fatigue Management accreditation, or a willingness to obtain it—training can be provided

• 100% of jobs allocated

• 95%+ fleet utilisation target

• A strong focus on reducing empty running wherever possible

• Accurate planning, proactive communication and smooth daily operations
