The Role As an Excavator Operator, you'll play an important role in delivering safe and productive mining operations.
You'll operate large-scale excavators to efficiently load haul trucks while working to the mine plan and maintaining high standards of safety, productivity and equipment care.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Operating 120T+ excavators and D9+ dozers
- Loading haul trucks safely and efficiently
- Completing pre-starts and routine equipment inspections
- Identifying and reporting equipment faults
- Working closely with Supervisors and production crews
- Following mine plans, site procedures and operational standards
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and equipment care
- Working safely to achieve daily production targets
What You’ll Bring We're looking for experienced operators with a proven background in open-cut production mining.
You’ll have:
- Demonstrated experience operating 120T+ excavators
- Experience operating D9+ dozers
- Proven open-cut mining experience
- Current RII competencies and/or verifiable operating history
- Strong knowledge of excavation and truck loading practices
- A strong commitment to safety
- Reliable attendance and a positive attitude
- Ability to work effectively as part of a production team
- Flexibility to work a 7/7 rotating day/night roster
