Disability Inclusion Coordinator

SC1 Demonstrated capacity to perform duties consistent with established guidelines and frameworks, including coordinating and supporting others in respect to specific work functions relevant to the role (Disability Inclusion).

SC4 Possess the technical knowledge and expertise relevant to the position (Disability Inclusion).

SC5 Demonstrated capacity to provide advice and support to management and other school staff in respect to the Disability Inclusion process.

No holiday attendance is required for this position.

This role is suitable for candidates with training and experience in the Disability Inclusion process, who can work with the Assistant Principal to finalise and move students through the Disability Inclusion Profiles process.

Under the direction of the Assistant Principal, Disability Inclusion Leader and Business Manager, the Disability Inclusion Coordinator will work collaboratively wih the Assistant Principal/Disability Inclusion Leader to support administrative processes related to inclusive practice within the school.

Dimensions of work:

1. Coordinate, organise and determine work priorities within a work area.
2. Ensure the efficient operation of a work area.
3. Obtain cooperation amongst staff within the work area and supervise the performance of tasks.
4. Communicate and liaise with school staff to foster cooperation.
5. Coordinate the prepation of routine school communication.
6. Ensure confidentiality of records is maintained.
7. Manipulate data/information and prepare documentation/basic reports.

Range 3 is distinguished by the introduction of management responsibility and accountability for the delivery of professional support services. The role will usually impact beyond the work area or professional field. It seeks to gain cooperation of other staff members or members of the school community to achieve specific objectives, such as in school administration, operations or educational programs.

Direction on targets and goals is provided but the position will have some degree of latitude in determining how they are achieved. This latitude will generally be limited by standard procedures and school policy.  Deviation from standard procedures and school policy will require guidance and direction from senior management.

An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students, but must not include duties of teaching as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor.  Supervision of students cannot be required except where it is an integral part of the employee¿s position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.

1. Working collaboratively with the Assistant Principal/Disability Inclusion Leader to support students, parents and staff through the completion of administrative tasks.
2. Scheduling parents, students and staff for Disability Inclusion Profile meetings.
3. Requesting and collating feedback from classroom teachers for students supported through Program for Students with Disability and Disability Inclusion as well as any others requested by the Assistant Principal/Disability Inclusion Leader.
4. Responding to requests from allied health professionals and ensuring the completion of associated administrative tasks.
5. Requesting and managing the storage of confidential student documentation and assessments and maintaining the organisation of these files.
6. Completing administrative processes within Disability Inclusion Profile applications including registering individual students, undertake student observations, completing inital student information, uploading supporting documentation, collating and storing supporting evidence with the assistance of the Assistant Principal and Disability Inclusion Leader.
7. Requesting and storing information for students with a disability or additional needs.
8. Updating and distributing documentation following the review of key student documentation including Individual Education Plans, Behavioural Support Plans, Safety Management Plans etc.

Bundoora Primary School is situated in the residential suburb of Bundoora, in the north-east of Melbourne.
