Employment will initially be for a 3 month casual role with an aim of going full time if we all fit together well. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network engineering, with at least 7 years' local experience in this domain providing support and solutions to customers at the SME and mid-market levels. Our clients run environments within AU region from 50 to 1000 seats with a mix of on premise, data centre, cloud, hybrid and SaaS in use. In this role you will support the technical team in the network space, and you will be responsible for designing and implementing functional network infrastructure that meets customer specifications, helping the sales team respond to RFP/RFQ’s, working with vendors on design requests, resolving issues that our support desk have escalated and addressing the network specific business needs of various organisations in the network domain. This role is a mix of presales, projects and BAU tasks. Our key network vendors are Aruba, Fortinet (NGFW), Cisco and Meraki. You will be expected to be strong with at least Aruba (wired and wireless) and Cisco network portfolios. The others we can provide training on. We are an ITIL driven shop so a working understanding & experience in this area is a must. Responsibilities· Designing and deploying functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN) including pre deployment surveys· Monitoring network performance and integrity· Troubleshoot and resolve L2/L3 escalations.· Stay up to date on the latest networking technologies with our key vendors.· Mentoring team members on network best practices· Maintaining network specific technical documentation· Suggesting improvements to network performance, capacity, and scalability· Work with customers to understand their needs and design solutions that meet their requirements.· Travel interstate will be part of this role. Some OS travel may also be required from time to time (NZ) Mandatory Skills and Experience· 7+ years of local experience in as network engineering role· Strong knowledge of routing, switching, and security technologies. Experience with tools like Intangli · Experience with Cisco, Aruba, Fortinet, and Juniper networking equipment. You must be strong with the first two of these vendors to be considered for this role. The rest we can train you on the others.· Experience with cloud-based networking technologies, such as AWS VPC, Azure VNet & SDWAN· Demonstrated experience with Network Access Control platforms like Aruba ClearPass · Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.· Experience/Exposure with SIP/cloud hosted voice platforms.· Industry-related experience with hospitality, FMCG, FSI, Industrial, BMS, Industrial OT, Engineering highly regarded.· Current Professional certifications (e.g. Aruba, Cisco, Fortinet etc…. )· Technically competent with *NIX based platforms.· Solid background in network management· In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols · Technically proficient with network security· Level 2 or higher skills with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools (e.g., LogicMonitor, Wireshark, TCP Dump etc...)· Experience working with T1 carriers and able to deal with their processes for MAC and new service deployments.
