Family Law Solicitor

About the role

You will carry your own caseload and assist the Principal Solicitor's caseload consisting of parenting and property matters from first appointment through to resolution. Wilde Law Group is a Wollongong firm practising in family law, acting for individuals navigating separation, parenting arrangements, property and financial settlements, parentage and family violence matters.

Key responsibilities

• Conducting initial appointments and providing clear, practical advice to clients
• Drafting correspondence, engaging in negotiation, mediation and dispute resolution, consent orders and binding financial agreements
• Preparing court documents, including applications, affidavits and financial statements
• Appearing at Court events and briefing counsel
• Managing client relationships, deadlines, costs disclosure and time recording
• Working alongside the principal on more complex matters

About you

• Admitted as a solicitor in NSW with a current NSW practising certificate
• Admitted to the High Court of Australia
• A minimum of 3 years' post-admission experience in family law
• Demonstrated capacity to run your own files
• Sound working knowledge of the Family Law Act 1975 (Cth) and current practice and procedure
• Strong drafting skills and genuine care in client communication
• Reliable time recording and file management discipline
• Adaptability
• Experience with LEAP is an advantage, but not essential
