About the role

We now have a position available for an eligible student in their final year of law to undertake the Practical Legal Training component of their pre-admission requirements with us.

In this role, you will be exposed to all facets of a litigation practice, including:

• Social Media Marketing, website content writing, instagram and Facebook content writing
• Taking instructions from clients and interviewing witnesses
• Legal research and analysis;
• Drafting legal documents, such as briefs to counsel, subpoenas, written submissions, affidavits and witness statements;
• Attending court with solicitors to assist or with barristers to instruct or assist them;
• Appearing in in procedural or administrative proceedings (mentions); and
• Other administrative and clerical duties.

Please note this role is an unpaid fulltime volunteer position. However, all our solicitors are employed directly from the PLT pool, and as such there may well be a prospect of employment as a junior solicitor following the completion of your PLT placement.

About you

To be successful, you will need to meet the following criteria:

• A genuine interest in litigation law and court advocacy;
• A good sense of humour
• An interest in social media marketing as it relates to law firms
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Possess excellent research and problem-solving skills; and
• Be available to start immediately and work on a full-time basis (Mon-Fri each week).
• VIETNAMESE or MANDARIN speaking would assist but not essential
