About the role
Mayfair Building Co is seeking an experienced, hands-on Site Supervisor to take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of our aged-care renovation project at Clarens Estate in Albany.
We are open to engaging the right person either as a full-time Mayfair employee or under a subcontract arrangement. In either case, this is a project-dedicated role suited to a capable and practical construction professional who lives in Albany, Denmark, Mount Barker or the surrounding Great Southern region.
This is a hands-on supervisory role. Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will manage site operations and coordinate subcontractors, trades, suppliers and project resources, while also being prepared to work on the tools where needed to keep the project moving. You will ensure the works are delivered safely, efficiently and to Mayfair’s standards of quality.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage the day-to-day operation of the construction site
• Work on the tools where required, using your practical trade experience to support the team and maintain progress
• Coordinate subcontractors, trades, suppliers and material deliveries
• Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work and construction documentation
• Monitor the construction programme and keep works progressing to schedule
• Maintain high standards of workmanship, presentation and quality control
• Identify and resolve site issues promptly and practically
• Conduct site inspections and ensure defects are addressed
• Review SWMS and ensure site activities comply with WHS requirements
• Maintain accurate site records, progress updates and supporting documentation
• Communicate effectively with the Construction Manager, project team, consultants and subcontractors
• Support the project through construction, completion, defect rectification and handover
ABOUT YOU
You will be an experienced, organised and accountable supervisor who is equally comfortable managing the site and stepping onto the tools when required. You communicate clearly, plan ahead and maintain standards without needing to be chased.
To be successful, you will ideally have:
• Demonstrated experience supervising construction projects
• Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, building practices and quality requirements
• The ability to read and interpret plans, engineering details and specifications
• Excellent subcontractor coordination and problem-solving skills
• A strong working knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements
• Good computer skills and confidence using construction and reporting systems
• A current White Card and driver’s licence
• A relevant trade qualification, particularly carpentry, and/or a Certificate IV or Diploma in Building and Construction
• Current First Aid qualifications, or a willingness to obtain them
You must live within Albany, Denmark, Mount Barker or the surrounding region and be able to travel to the Albany site each working day.
