About the role
We're looking for a Client Manager to join a growing team within a well-established professional accounting firm in Melbourne.
This is an excellent opportunity for a CA or CPA-qualified accountant with strong experience in professional accounting who is ready to take greater ownership of their client portfolio, build on their advisory capability and continue developing their leadership skills.
The role offers the opportunity to work closely with clients and Partners while taking ownership of client relationships, technical work and broader business opportunities.
As a Client Manager, you'll take responsibility for a portfolio of clients and play an important role in delivering high-quality accounting, taxation and advisory services.
Your responsibilities will include:
Manage a client portfolio, including client relationships, task turnaround and WIP management.
Build strong, trusted relationships and act as a key point of contact for clients.
Participate in and independently lead client meetings.
Perform analytical reviews of your own and the team's work to identify client opportunities and risks.
Review and sign off client work with confidence.
Draft advice on financial, taxation and investment matters for Partner review.
Provide technical guidance, training and mentorship to team members.
Provide strategies relating to Division 7A compliance, supported by strong technical knowledge.
Research technical matters and compile insights to support client and business decision-making.
Identify opportunities to add value to clients and contribute to business growth.
Drive innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
Contribute to workplace groups and wider firm initiatives.
We're looking for a technically strong and client-focused accountant who is ready to take ownership and build their career within Client Management.
You'll ideally have:
5 years' experience in a professional accounting firm.
CA or CPA qualification.
Strong technical accounting and taxation knowledge.
Experience managing or working closely with a client portfolio.
Confidence communicating directly with clients and leading client meetings.
Experience reviewing work and maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
A good understanding of Division 7A compliance and strategies.
Strong time management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
A proactive and commercially minded approach to client service.
A genuine interest in mentoring, coaching and developing others.
A willingness to contribute to process improvement, innovation and broader firm initiatives.
