Manager Culture & Safety

About the role

The Manager, Culture & Safety is a key member of the leadership team, pivotal in driving strategic initiatives that foster positive change and build a high-performing, inclusive, collaborative and safe culture across the business. The purpose of this role is to develop and implement strategies, policies, programs and practices that support the achievement of WIS's vision and values.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of strategies that build a culture based on WIS's vision and values

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

• Provide accurate advice on employee matters, including workplace investigations

• Facilitate formal and informal conversations that drive continual improvement in employee performance and culture

• Monitor remuneration for compliance and develop recognition strategies that reward high performers

• Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, and develop, implement and monitor effective retention strategies

• Lead the development and implementation of strategies to continually improve safety and safety culture across WIS

• Provide visible leadership through regular site visits, employee engagement and consultation, and safety audits

• Develop and monitor safety metrics, including incidents — identifying root causes, implementing corrective actions, and sharing learnings

• Prepare a 3-year Strategic Plan and 1-year Operational Plan, and monitor progress against these

About you

• A Business, HR or related degree, or equivalent skills and knowledge gained through relevant experience

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in HR, leadership and management, including safety and risk management

• Demonstrated experience as a workplace culture change leader

• Experienced practitioner across all aspects of human resource management

• Exceptional leadership capability

• Experience in work health and safety and risk management

• Demonstrated effectiveness in building a safety culture

• Experienced in conducting audits and identifying hazards and risks

• Experience with the ISO certification process

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and internet tools, with confidence using relevant IQMS technology
