House Keeper

 Perform housekeeping duties in residents’ rooms, bathrooms, corridors, kitchens, and communal areas.   

• Replenish basic amenities such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.   

• Maintain cleanliness of outdoor common spaces including verandas, footpaths, and entryways.   

• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment in a safe manner.   

• Dispose of rubbish and recycling appropriately and safely.   

• Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or concerns to the Housekeeping Supervisor promptly.   

• Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures, including correct use of PPE and chemicals.   

• Assist with periodic deep cleaning during semester breaks or special events.   

• Respect the privacy and property of residents while cleaning personal or semi-private areas.  

Skills and experience   

• Previous cleaning experience in residential, hospitality or institutional setting preferred.   

• Understanding safe chemical handling and hygiene standards.   

• Physically fit and able to perform repetitive manual tasks.   

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.   

 Prerequisite for this role: 

Successful candidates will be required to undertake: 

• a pre-employment medical  

• provide a current National Police Clearance 

• Provide a current DHS Working with Children check 

• Provide a signed declaration relating to any history of relationships with other employees, residents or Board members in accordance with The Universities Accord (National Higher Education Code to Prevent and Respond to Gender based Violence) 2026. 

• Valid Australian working rights are also essential.
