About us
Established in 1959, Stoddart has been synonymous with stainless steel, steel and aluminium metal fabrication for over 60 years. We operate out of a state-of the-art facility in the southern suburbs of Brisbane, with an additional network of sales offices and warehouses in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. Throughout its evolution, Stoddart has proudly continued to remain a 100% Australian-owned family business.
We are seeking Sheetmetal Apprentices to join our team full-time. Apprentices are required to develop a range of skills which will allow them to fabricate a broad range of products. As such, these apprentices will learn to be adept at quality control and recognising what amounts to ‘fit for purpose’ for any given item or customer. Ideal candidates will be completing an apprenticeship, hold a sheet metal trade qualification, or possess equivalent industry experience.
More specifically your duties will include the following:
Undertake general fabrication tasks
Undertake welding duties
Complete logbook as required
Undertake polishing and finishing
Perform basic computer tasks
Quality control
Undertake housekeeping
In determining suitability for the role, the following criteria are considered essential:
Skilled at applying manual handling techniques
Develop skills at geometric development, measuring and marking out
Develop skills at using relevant hand tools
Develop skills at welding
Develop an understanding to read drawings
Ability to demonstrate enhanced verbal and written communication skills incorporating MS Office
Completing an Apprenticeship
The following criteria are considered desirable:
Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment
