Personal Care Worker (NDIS)| Oak Park

We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Disability Support Worker / Personal Care Worker to support a NDIS participant in Oak Park.

This is an opportunity for a calm, patient and empathetic support worker who understands that every person has different communication, sensory and emotional needs.

• Supporting the participant with daily living activities and personal care
• Providing companionship and genuine emotional support
• Creating an environment where the participant feels safe, heard and respected
• Using trauma-informed and person-centered communication
• Being mindful of sensory needs and helping maintain a calm and sensory-appropriate environment
• Providing clear and reassuring preparation before appointments, outings or unfamiliar activities
• Supporting the participant to make their own decisions about food, routines, activities and supports
• Encouraging independence, choice and control rather than taking over
• Providing community access and transport where required
• Assisting with domestic tasks as needed
• Supporting the participant consistently and respectfully while maintaining professional boundaries
• Following the participant's individual support plan and agreed routines

We are looking for someone who is calm, compassionate, patient and emotionally aware, with the ability to build trust and establish a strong professional relationship with the participant. You will ideally have:

• Cert III or IV in Disability (required)
• Experience supporting people with complex support needs, psychosocial disability, neurodivergence or trauma backgrounds
• Medication trained (desirable)
• A strong understanding of trauma-informed care
• Understanding of professional boundaries within the support work scope
• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Working with Children Check
• CPR and First Aid certifications
• Your own reliable transport with comprehensive insurance and a Victorian Driver License
