Zonge Engineering and Research Organization (Aust) Pty Ltd (Zonge Australia) established in 1984 provides a range of electrical ground geophysical services to support the mining, engineering, and environmental industries. We are known for our safe, efficient, and accurate surveys, which respect the local environment and culture. 

The Role

You will be part of a dynamic team assisting in collecting electrical ground geophysical data. Most surveys are conducted in Australia, with some conducted internationally. These remote locations can be spectacular; however, they can also be physically and mentally demanding, so you'll need a good level of fitness, an adventurous can-do attitude, and a safety-first approach to all you do.

Activities will include:

• preparing and maintaining wire

• mapping wire and electrode layouts

• digging holes and pulling wire

• operating, lifting and carrying equipment

• off-road vehicle operation

• equipment safety checks

If you are a team player and bring the right attitude and willingness to work, we'll provide the technical training; doing things the right way and safely is essential. 

Assignments could see you away from home for up to 4 weeks. The work can be demanding and the days long, but you will learn about geophysical exploration and enjoy working with a diverse team.   

To be successful, you will require:

• a can-do attitude

• be personable and get along with people from all walks of life

• a good level of fitness, explicitly lifting and carrying heavy items and walking long distances

• the ability to listen and follow instructions

• experience working or staying in remote locations for extended periods

• a current driver's licence with the ability to drive a manual vehicle

• a clear police record check

• a clear pre-employment medical with drug & alcohol screening

• flexibility to travel across Australia and internationally for extended periods

It's a bonus if you have:

• similar field experience or education

• mechanical and geotechnical knowledge

• 4WD, ATV and SSV experience

• Provide First Aid & CPR qualification

• a Western Australian Electrical Worker's Permit

• fire extinguisher training
