The Opportunity

This isn't a role where you'll be micromanaged. We're after a Senior Estimator who thrives on autonomy — someone who can pick up a set of drawings and confidently quote a commercial electrical project from start to finish: underground services, mains and sub-mains, switchboards, lighting and power, right through to fit-off. You'll know exactly how to land a competitive, profitable tender without needing your hand held. You'll have real ownership over your pipeline, backed by a Director and Project Managers who trust you to get it right on major commercial builds.

What you'll be doing:

• 📐 Preparing accurate, competitive estimates and tenders across the full scope of a commercial electrical project — undergrounds, mains and sub-mains, switchboards, lighting, power and everything in between

• 📄 Reading and interpreting drawings, specifications and scopes of work

• 🤝 Liaising directly with suppliers and subcontractors to lock in the best pricing

• 🎯 Spotting project risks and value-engineering opportunities before they become problems

• 🏗️ Attending site visits and pre-tender briefings

• 🔄 Handing won jobs over cleanly to the Project Managers

• 📊 Keeping sharp records of quotes, margins and win rates

What You'll Bring

• Proven runs on the board estimating commercial electrical construction projects start to finish — confident quoting everything from undergrounds through to switchboards, lighting and power

• Deep, practical knowledge of electrical systems, materials and installation methods

• Confidence reading technical drawings and specs without needing to ask twice

• Sharp numeracy and an eye for detail that catches what others miss

• Strong negotiation instincts with suppliers and subcontractors

• A genuine ability to work autonomously — you set your own pace and manage your own workload

• Experience with Simpro highly regarded but not essential

• A trade background or electrical engineering qualification (highly regarded, not essential)

• Clear, confident communication with clients, subcontractors and the internal team
